Worship is a powerful way to seek God in the waiting. Psalm 119:105 says, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” By reading God’s Word, we can find guidance and direction in the waiting. The Bible is filled with stories of people who waited on God’s timing, and we can learn from their experiences. Reading God’s Word is another way we can seek Him in the waiting. Philippians 4:6-7 says, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” By spending time in prayer, we can find peace in the waiting and trust that God hears our prayers. When we pray, we can pour out our hearts to God and ask for His guidance and wisdom. Prayer is a powerful tool for seeking God in the waiting.

When we focus on what we do have instead of what we don’t have, we can find contentment in the waiting. Gratitude is a powerful tool for cultivating patience. For example, Isaiah 40:31 says, “But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.” When we focus on God’s promises, we can be reminded that He is faithful and that His plans for us are good. However, the Bible is filled with promises that we can cling to in our waiting. In times of waiting, it can be easy to focus on our circumstances and lose sight of God’s promises. We live in a world where everything is fast-paced, and we are conditioned to expect instant results. Patience is not something that comes naturally to most of us. Waiting on God’s timing can be a difficult and uncomfortable process, but it is necessary for our spiritual growth. Sometimes, God uses waiting periods to refine us, teach us important lessons, and prepare us for what is to come.
He has a purpose for every season we go through (Romans 8:28). It’s important to remember that God’s timing is not arbitrary. When we understand that God’s timing is perfect, we can trust that His plan for our lives is for our good and His glory. We may want something now, but God may have a different timeline in mind. However, His timing is not always our timing. God is sovereign over all things, and He has a plan for each of our lives (Jeremiah 29:11). The Bible tells us that there is a time for everything under heaven (Ecclesiastes 3:1).
